Black History Month (drumming through 4 colleges across Brum!)
This week, I will be doing African Drumming Workshops for 4 colleges across Birmingham.
Black History Month was first celebrated in the United Kingdom in 1987. It was organised through the leadership of Ghanaian analyst Akyaaba Addai-Sebo, who had served as a coordinator of special projects for the Greater London Council (GLC) and created a collaboration to get this a national event and was first celebrated in London.
Though I will be mainly teaching a few rhythms and having fun, I am honoured to be a part of this.
